room 291 has existed in one form or another since 1984 - originally a band that did live performance, by 1992 it had become the solo project of band leader paul kern. At some point it split into two projects - "room 291" for instrumental and experimental work, and "red cloud blue sky" for more traditional song structures, with lyrics and vocals.
